Django is a high-leveled, open source framework used to create fast Internet applications. Django enables us to create fast working prototypes.
The most important features of Django are: an automatically generated and complete administration panel, friendly document addresses with a possibility of free shaping, easy but functional system of templates clear for both graphic designers and programmers, separation of business logic (a controller) from data bases (a model) and layout (templates), high scalability and efficiency under the load, efficient caching systems, memcache service.
Django cooperates with Apache through mod_python and with other servers through FastCGI and SCGI protocol. Django supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite.
It is worthy to note that at the moment Django is the only technology officially supported by Google App Engine and Google itself use Python to create many middle range solutions (among others Google Help).
