Availability

The aim of availability is designing concerning the widest circle of users. We believe that availability is a part of the Universal Design conception.

Universal design provides:

  • Equal treatment of all users
  • Flexible use- a user can use the product comfortably
  • Intuitive use and usefulness of a product
  • Clear communication with user
  • Tolerance for user's mistakes
  • Comfortable use of a product
  • Adoption of user's dimensions, providing comfortable space for working with a product

Universal Design makes using a product easy for all groups of people; we focus particularly on:

  • Elderly people
  • Children
  • Blind and sand-blind users
  • Users with visual impairment
  • Users with limited manual abilities
  • Mobile platform users (phones, pda, smartphones)
  • Users of non-standard devices (web TV, voice web)

Availability is required by UE and Polish laws. The following laws oblige public benefit institutions to create available WWW services:

  • Constitution of The Republic of Poland (including article 32 and 69)
  • Act on access to public information (from 6.09.2000)
  • Act on informatization of the activity of the subject realizing public duties (from 17.07.2005)
  • Disabled Persons Charter (Resolution of Sejm of Republic of Poland from 1.08.1997)

Moreover, all the organizational units of UE countries are obliged to provide access to their services without discrimination against the users by the rule of eEurope 2002. Increasing accessibility influences the company image positively as a social responsibility and the position of WWW service in search engines.
